Places to see in Diveagar
Diveagar beach:
Diveagar has a long and sandy beach of nearly 4-5 kms.
It has a number of watersports like mud scooter, banana boat ride, speed boat, jet ski,etc.
Suvarna Ganesh temple:
Diveagar became famous when on the auspicious day of Sankashti Chaturthi , 17th November 1997 a half statue of Ganapati made of gold of 1kg 325 grams was found in a copper trunk of 30 kgs by Shrimati Draupadi patil while working in her farm. The idol was installed in temple.
The golden (suvarna) Ganesh murti (idol) of Diveagar Ganpati temple was allegedly stolen by thieves on 24 March 2012. The idol has since then been replaced by one made with Silver. The Stolen Gold was recovered from thieves and the Gold Murthi was reinstalled in temple 23 november 2021.
Rup Narayan temple:
the idol of lord Narayana made of greenish-black rock is from 800 to 1265 AD. It is of south Indian style. The crown of idol has a lion face on it which is a superb sculpture of south India.
Uttareshwar temple:
situated on the north end of the village so called uttareshwar. Shreemant Peshwa family’s idol of faith and worship. Shreemant ramabai peshwa visited this temple so says history.There are many other temples worth seeing like Gothneshwar, Gautameshwar, etc.
